¯ C.E. was discussing "Armed And Dangerous" with Wayne. ®
WT>I recently made a comment on another echo concerning the use of
WT>"field expedient weaponry", and said that what the average
WT>pissed-off American could come up with in the way of "kitchen
WT>table" weapons if he was suddenly thrust into a civil war
WT>situation boggles the mind.
CC¯ giggle...and then there are those of us that are
CC¯paranoid about our government that lay in stocks of high carbon
CC¯tube steel and fertilizer and Borax and Neuritic acids
Well, I'm not that paranoid. YET, that is.
CC¯After all the Anarchists cookbook has been on the net for years
CC¯and there are even better tomes. :-)
And is a LOT more dangerous to people who try to use the those
formulas and manufacturing techniques than to anyone the final
result would be used against.
All of those "anarchist" files scare me. I've seen far too many of
them that have been boobytrapped...
The best of the lot are the Special Forces handbooks on Field
Expedient Weaponry and Explosives. I think "Paladin Press"
reprints them...
Well, enough of that, I don't want to get too far off topic here.
I'm new to the Echo, haven't seen a copy of the rules yet, and don't
know how far I can stray from the topic (or even -=exactly=- what
the topic is)...
CC¯An interesting thread came up in an other echo about the
CC¯Liberator pistol that was dropped by the thousands into occupied
CC¯countries in WWII. a simple .45 single shot it allowed te users
CC¯to "appropriate" more modern weapons from the Germans :)
I've had a chance to handle a couple of those that are in a private
collection. They are crude stamped sheet metal and steel pipe
factory made "zip-guns" that had a trap in the grip that would hold
a few spare cartridges, but they did what they were intended to.
The "instruction manual" for them was a single page of cartoon
illustrations showing how to load, fire, eject empty cartridge
cases, etc. That way the same package (which consisted of the
pistol, instruction sheet, twelve .45ACP cartridges, and a short
stick that was pushed through the barrel to eject the spent shell
casing) could be dropped from Holland to New Guinea without worrying
about having to translate instructions into dozens of languages...
                              \x/7
