If you are talking about MY children.... excellent idea, I do that and
they are learning to speak out for their beliefs. Problem is, they are
just two kids and the rest of the world call them names for what they
believe in. My question, "How do we impose those values on the REST of
the world" didn't include my kids... it was the "REST" of the world I
was asking about.

I do blame television for a great deal of the bad value system we live
in. Stations and networks are clamoring for more and more sensational
stuff to grab an additional slice of the ratings. They know that people
watch violence and sex so thats what they offer. We have become
desensitized to it.
The other way I blame TV, especially where youth are concerned, it has
told our children that Mom and Dad are not necessarily right and that
they should question authority. Kids are lots more educated today
because of TV and its not necessarily a good kind of education.
My TV stays off a lot and when it is on, it stays on the educational
channels mostly. My kids get bored with "THIS OLD HOUSE" and "THE CAJUN
CHEF" and do something weird like reading...
Thanks,
Ron
