Hello Gerald!
Quoting Gerald's message:
RB>> What extension does the incoming (nodelist/nodediff) file has?
GM> They appear to numbers... as in the last one I received had an
xtension
GM> of ".100".
An exension of 100 would have been correct - it would have indicated Friday
April 10th 1998 as being Julian day number 100.
Here are some examples of the Julian day number for a few Fridays:
Friday 03 April = 093
Friday 10 April = 100
Friday 17 April = 107
Friday 24 April = 114
Friday 01 May = 121
Friday 08 May = 128
Friday 15 May = 135
So, if you ran the little program I posted, as of today (April 24th) it would
be looking for Julian day number 114 or a file with extension 114 or for
FidoNet NODEDIFF.A14 update.
GM> I think I tried using the extensions to determine the relative age of
GM> the files, but I trashed that idea because I think the @ext was being
GM> interpreted as a string rather than a series of digits...
That is probably normal; you then need to use the @int to get the numeric
part of it.
Sincerely, Raymond Beriau.
