DA>Here are the rules for the Inter-Echo Match between CHESS and CHESS_TOU DA>echos. Individual assignments and team rosters are being posted separa DA>Play may begin at once: DA> Inter-Echo Match Rules DA>1. All moves will be posted on BOTH the CHESS and CHESS TOURNEY echos DA> so everyone can watch. DA>2. Moves are to be posted with a subject of "Inter-Echo Match" on EVERY DA> message so people using offline readers can sort by thread & see all DA> the moves at once. DA>3. Each message is to contain an ENTIRE scoresheet to date. DA>4. Time control is 3 moves in 30 days. This is a standard for slow EMa DA> chess. Allowances must & will be made for technical difficulties. I DA> not anticipated that anyone will be forfeited for time violations, u DA> they simply disappear (in which case they will aso be SHOT! ). T DA> is just a guideline. DA>5. TD's are Doug Attig & Lawrence Garvin, moderators of Chess Tourney a DA> Chess respectively. Disputes will be arbitrated by them in netmail, DA> and decisions posted in both echos. Post disputes to them by name. DA> It is not anticipated that there will be any disputes . All these rules are very clear, except number 4, the time control. I understand that it's just a guideline, but I'd still like some clarification. What is counted in determining 3 moves in 30 days? One player's receipt of a move untill he send his reply? Or is it from receipt of a move until his opponent's receipt of his reply? In case a dispute arises, how is it determined when a player received a move. What happens after the first three moves? Is unused time added to a players allotment? In other words, if he made his first 3 moves in 3 days, does he now have 57 days to make his next 3? Assuming that each player uses his full time allotment, the first three moves could take 60 days. That means a 40-move game could take as much as 800 days, which seems extraordinarily long. - - Ken - --- * WR 1.31 # 119 * Ecce Eduardus scalis nunc tump-tump-tump. --- Maximus/2 2.02* Origin: Old Pueblo BBS Tucson Computer Society (1:300/2) SEEN-BY: 50/99 78/0 270/101 711/401 409 410 413 430 808 809 932 934 712/407 SEEN-BY: 712/515 517 624 628 713/888 714/906 800/1 7877/2809 @PATH: 300/2 603 3615/50 396/1 270/101 712/515 711/808 809 934 |
