Hello, Julie, I had faxed Suzanne Mitchell lke I told you and May Nelson
that got me a call back neat.
We discussed several things and one thing that came up was
the possiblity of NFB starting a library and information professionals
devision that would also let library users in too
but I don't know how to start a devision and wnder if they'd want one.
Can you write a little something for me and post it to some lists
kinda like this

I have long felt that the NFB could benefet from another devision. This
devision
would involve the library and information science fields. So few blind
people are encouraged to consider these professions that I am alarmed at
the potential lack of support here. I personally want to work at
one of the NLS state libraries serving blind patrons. Few blind people do.
I feel that this is an area that needs to be further explored. In adition,
the rapid changes of technology have made manymore areas possible as
employment opportunities. Information science, different from c
computer science, is a new possibility. Library users should also have
a forum to discuss their concerns in this type of devision. I see
this devision working with the NAPUB and Computer Science Devisions.
Does anyone else think we need another devision and should we continue
along as best we can.
Thank you for your insights and concern!
