The file structure of the two versions is essentially identical although Word
7.0 will permit the use of long file names.

The word processor included is a variant of Word (perhaps 8.0?) Office 97
offers a degree of integration of its parts which has to be seen to be
believed; I can open my browser from its tool bar. It also offers a new
macro language and a different file structure which is a mixed blessing.
