| subject: | [OS2HW] SATA II & RAID |
If I might just pick up on this thread please, I saw in Dani's list at
least one card which
had RAID in its name, the NetCell SyncRAID. Is this a true hardware RAID?
I ask because I recall Dani warning that the Promise RAID which was built into Mobos
for a while was not. I therefore left it alone, which was easy as it
didn't work with OS/2.
Since then I have been using SCSI RAID controllers but given the very
attractive price
of SATA drives I would really like to be able to employ these but only in a
rock solid
system comparable to what I use now.
Does anybody have any relevant experience and what is the professional advice?
Regards,
Alastair.
