Hello Andy:
in your last post i take it at your word that you do not think that the
nfb is a terrible organization. in view of that position, i would ask you
to demonstrate this support for the nfb by showing us any of your postings
that have ever been positive about the nfb or its leaders. I have been
reading your postings for several months, and it seems to you that you are
always picking apart something that the organization or its leaders have
done or not done. while you certainly have a right to do this, the rest
of us have the same right to disagree with you and to express our
disagreement. even so, you always object when we respond with something
short of agreement with your position. Just as you have the right to
voice your opposition to something or another about the nfb, we have the
right to support the nfb. as for your statement that you do not regard
the nfb as terrible, please consider posting something positive sometime
so you can demonstrate that view to us. all of your other postings would
lead to the opposite conclusion. if you cannot think of anything good to
comment about, maybe you actually do think that the organization is
terrible. feel free to do that, but please understand that a lot of us on
this list and in this country will disagree with you. after all, by its
size and strength, the nfb must be doing something right. please try to
find the good along with the bad and try to talk about it with some degree
of even handedness. I don't know any movement that ever grew very much
when the majority of its members spent much of their energies cutting it
down. the nfb is not perfect, but it does a lot more good than it does
that is bad. do you really think that your approach to supporting the
organization, which is primarily negative, is likely to lead to much
improvement?
Thanks,
J. G.
