Was this at Dani's request? Note that Danis506.doc says
Undocumented options
--------------------
/LAT
/FIXES
/DEBUG
To me this means the fiddling with /DEBUG on your own is not likely to
provide useful results.
Further down is the statement
If any of your EIDE devices is not detected at boot-up, please
contact me.
The driver has special debug code built in; I will tell you how to
enable
and gather these traces.
To my way of thinking your setup quaifies as one of these.
If I wanted to resolve this on one of my systems, I would trust Dani's
abilities and read and follow the documentation to the level the failing
system allowed
DumpIDE > Good.dmp
to gather data from the working driver
COPY IBMS506$ good.copy
to gather data from the working driver
Capture the /V output of the failing driver either by hand or with a
camera.
This would all get sent along to Dani with the other data she requests.
I am sure she will not fault you for not sending data that it is
impossible for you to collect with your current level of knowledge.

The general approach is to follow Dani's instructions. What is it that
you are finding difficult about this?

Who cares? Attempting fix problems you don't yet have is a waste of time,
IMO.
