*[Quoting Will Sperling to All]
On 11-10-96 22:00, [About Cellular Interference]*
WS> I was very disappointed when I obtained two newer scanners (I owned a
WS> Radio Shack 2004 for several years, and have never had the following
WS> issue), and have been plagued with cellular interference. What this
I had this problem, too, with my relatively new (at that time) RS
Pro-2027. Andrew Porrett from this echo told me to remove the antenna
and use a *very* short straightened paperclip instead. The paperclip
should be 2-3 inches and stuck in the center of the scanner's antenna
connector. Experiment and keep it short enough to let in the police
transmissions and keep out the cellular. It did help and I also noticed
that when I moved the unit to another room, the cellular all but
stopped. Don't know if this is coincidence or if the location was a
factor.
Pro 2027 is a table unit with 100 channels and 800 mhz. Like you, I was
unhappy that the local police was being overridden by phone
conversations that didn't interest me at all. It seems to be minimized
now, however, so I hope things work out for you, too.
