subject: [OS2HW] Wide screen monitors

I needed to replace my crt and decided to buy a flat panel LCD. I
was offered a good price on a wide screen so that is what I bought.

The desktop now appears somewhat 'stretched'. For example, I have
an analog clock as a screensaver. The clock display is no longer a
circle, but slightly egg-shaped.

Does anyone have a suggestion to fix this or is it something I have
to live with on a wide screen monitor? Using the monitor controls
I can force the screen to a 4:3 size which results in large black
bands on the sides but I would prefer to use the added screen space
rather than seeing the black bands on the side.

Jon
