GP>Then every day when I got to my arcade, I had to shovel out 2-3 feet of snow, >whether or not it had snowed the night before! (darn drifting!) Yes.. the drifting is always worse than the snowing, although usually the drifts are fairly solid so you can snowshoe or snowmobile over them without sinking out of sight. I used to spend all winter here on the shores of Georgian Bay, although in recent years I've spent the worst of the winter in Parry Sound. Back then I often had to snowshoe out to get the mail or to get to my car (both about a mile from the house) and I purposely bought oversized snowshoes (250 lb capacity) instead of lighter ones to match my 160 lb frame because they would keep you from sinking so badly, and I was still at times sinking to my knees through fluffy snow.. Walk a 2 mile round trip in that and it's like jogging 15 miles in summer.. --- * SLMR Rob * Capital punishment means never having to say "You Again?" * PDQWK 2.52 #17 --- GTMail 1.26* Origin: Kentucky's Capitol City Online * 502/875-8938 * cco.ath.cx (1:2320/105.0) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 2320/105 261/38 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
