22 is definitely old.  My first cat after becoming an adult lived to 20
years.  She died in my arms.  She died about 12 years ago, and we created a
casket for her and keep her buried in the back yard.  She's had two moves
since passing away.

I don't think I know anyone who has had a cat that old.  My uncle had one
