You know the story of "Belfast is burning?"

The Germans bombed Belfast in WWII.  Eamon De Valera ordered every fire
brigade in the Free State across the border.  The Cork Fire Brigade raced
the length of Ireland -- and met the Dublin Fire Brigade coming back.

"Yez can turn around.  Th' fire's out."

The Cork men took off their coats and thrashed the Dubliners to a
fare-thee-well to teach them to leave a little fire for others next time.
