Ah.....that depends on your definition of success....

A nice clear cut goal like "getting rid of all iranian nuclear
sites".....is not doable but a broad fluffy cloud couched in terms of
soundbites for the challenged......e.g "remove Saddam".....when
you mean take over & occupy a country & try & create a whole
new form of gov + constitution etc.etc.

However if the aim was to get some good training for the mil in modern
asymmetric warfare then I fell that goal has been admirably achieved.
