So?

That does not in any way imply that they approve of the job Rumsfeld (or
Bush) is doing, unless you think that all Republicans should be mindlessly
doctrinaire with respect to GOP policy.

It makes sense to me that those at the sharp end of the Bush Doctrine are
most clearly able to judge the effectiveness and performance of their
civilian leadership.
