Unless you're intimate with these players and/or their agents, this is pure 
speculation.  In any case, even if it's true, I still don't see how it 
equates the agent being at fault for turning down a huge contract.  If the 
agent does something foolish, because his player has given him carte blanch, 
then it's still the player's ultimate responsibilty for that decision.  What 
happened to personal accountability?
I don't get it.
