I also noticed that already on my skill level some subconcious things are 
happening. I have made a very distorted patch  (sound) which tends to switch 
to a harmonic mode. Usually, when I intend to get those harmonics, I hold the 
pick a little bit more flat and kinda touch the string with my thumb when 
picking it. With that new sound I don`t need to do so and I kinda get the 
harmonics when I intend to, but don`t ask me how I do it.
