Uninstall can be grief in 95 (been there, done that, have the bloody
T-shirt...) despite the WIN 95 uninstall. (Which is only available for
programs written for WIN 95.) Besides the problem of uninstalling WIN 3.1x
programs, uninstall for WIN 95 apps is not reliable. I've recently had to
"start clean" (not just reinstall WIN 95 on top of my old instillation, but
start with a blank disk) despite having full backups. The problem being
incompatible versions of system DLLs.
I still don't believe that anyone would design a system where application
programs can replace system .DLLs (Yeah, there are "version checks" done by
the OS, but it doesn't always work.) Guess MS never heard of Murphy's Law...
I use INCTRL3 (free from the PCMag www site) to log all changes made by
installing a new application. But be warned, you won't sleep nights after
you see what some apps do to your system! ... OFFLINE 1.50
