Nope.  I can't tell if you are trying to say something good, bad, or funny
by the reference.  The reference in and of itself, without assuming some
particular point of view, says nothing good, bad, or funny about anyone.  I
don't want to guess at the point of view you may be assuming about the
story and then possibly provide a comment that turns out to be
inappropriate.  So I would need you to tell me what it is about the story
that you think says or implies something.  You need to tell me if a clue is
in the last several paragraphs because the story was so pointless and
boring that I couldn't force myself to invest the time in reading the
entire thing.
