I don't know if I can tell you "exactly", but it adds a source of
imprecision not present in an LCD. VGA may add noise, but it's not going to
affect pixel addressing the way a raster driven by magnetic deflection
would. The raster in an LCD is physical. Magnetic deflection is a source of
geometry artifacts.
