Ok, I'll do a column in Natural History talking about baseball and art
history as an excuse
for attacking complexity theory.  Tim can write books about the Selfish
Tribe and nasty
letters to the editor.  I'll accuse him of mud-slinging when he promotes
Cairns-Smith.
He can call my style of writing oleaginous.

More seriously, an ideal spokesperson for evolutionary biology must do two
things.
1. Get the facts and ideas right.
2. Make it interesting enough so that the public will read it.

I believe that Gould and Dawkins have done such an excellent job on #2 that
we should forgive them their occasional lapses on #1.
