I've flown Supercubs and Champs with the wingtip conversions.  They're
very nice at BOTH ends of the speed spectrum.  The Champ with 65 horses
will make almost 95 MPH (91-93 approx) and slow down to a speed that
makes you want to get out and push.
The Supercub had a brand new engine in it so we didn't fly it WFO but it
cruised handily above 100.  Maybe 110 with 50% power.  Landing was of
course a pleasure.
Quite a few of those tip conversions were manufactured right here in
McAllen Texas as the man who 'invented' them and had the STC lived here
most of his life.  I'll think of his name after I save this message.....
