The problem is head wear.  I've seen now 3 machines that the hi-fi
track has gone bad.  Various service techs have told me that head wear
affects the hi-fi tracks first, long before the picture or analouge
gets hit.  Have it professionally cleaned.  That may help.  Otherwise,
a head replacement might be the only answer, sorry to say.  With the
price of 'em, sometimes it's better just to buy a new one. :-(
