Ah!  I didn't check that far.  I was thinking George when I saw the name.

I didn't know he made "The Maltese Falcon".  The rest I knew
about and, if I am not mistaken, his father had a starring role in
"The Treasure of the Sierra Madre", as well as John playing a
small part as a rich man that Humphrey's character begs for money from a
couple of times near the beginning of the film.  His father was the old
prospector.  A great "steenkin'" movie!!!  :-)

I wouldn't quite go that far but he is a very good actor for sure and has
been in some very good films.  I recall one, a science fiction movie, that
even he couldn't save.  It was really bad I thought, Sean or no Sean.
