subject: Cellular Interference

WS> I was very disappointed when I obtained two newer scanners (I owned a
WS> Radio Shack 2004 for several years, and have never had the following
WS> issue), and have been plagued with cellular interference. What this
WS> boils down to, is that both the 890XLT and Pro-46, both which have
The reason you never noticed it with your PRO-2004 is that unit is
a triple-conversion design and that is the only thing that I've found to
be truly effective in combating the massive cellular bleedover into 800MHz
public safety and busn channels...it might even be more cost effective to
purchace replacement scanners instead of the notch filters (if you can sell
the
other scanners to someone else)...
If you decide to go the route of trading scanners, watch Radio Shack's
sales, right now they have the PRO-60 on sale (the upgrade of the PRO-43a)
for $249.99; 200 channels and good sensativity as a handheld...
Their original 1000ch top o' the line scanner is going for $299.97 or less
on closeout (PRO-2035) and last but not least is a PRO-2037 that is $100 off
for another week or so, Sale price of $199.99; 200 ch desktop/moblie that
seems to do a pretty good job...
Just my thoughts, and prices are subject to change :)
One reminder tho...none of the new scanners will receive cellular direct,
only the dual conversion scanners that will pick up images as you described.
