You /have/ to download the file, either onto disk or RAM, before you can scan
it for viruses. Just scan yer download directory before running anything.
You
could try AVP for Win95, which lets you scan inside archives and seems to be
pretty good when it comes to finding viruses. Norton may be one of the most
famous scanners, but IMO it's not one of the best.
