It's the best one I've found for my needs anyway.
Cons: 1) Only a few bands (12) to listen too.
2) You can't set a freq range to scan. It only scans bands.
3) 800Mhz can't be opened up fully.
4) Only 100 channels
Pros: 1) It has the main bands that I listen to 99% of the time.
2) So what? If I need to find a freq I can look in Police Call
or just scan the whole band. You find more stuff that way.
3) However all the cellular images show up at 894 and above so
they are still there. The scanner is legal just in case the
coppers want to examine it. "Is it *MY* fault the silly thing
picks up images"?
4) How many do you *NEED*?
I'm happy with 25 Police, 5 Fire, 6 Medical and a couple
Taco Bell and Mickey D's drive-throughs. Maybe 1 or 2 ham
repeaters so I can listen to myself when I'm on the air
and monitor the link freqs so I can see where my signal
is being transfered to and from.
Summary......
It's a good simple scanner and fills all my needs. It also seems to pick up
more (within it's freq ranges) than the Radio Scrap scanners I've tried.
