Well, some of them at Yellow Jersey were made in Europe (Italy? France?),
and I think the ones that fit me the best were Nike's (they had a different
problem, actually, the holes for the clip for clipless pedals fell right
under the ball of ones of my feet [and only one!]) So, maybe, the problem IS
the country of origin for the shoes-- esp. since "American" brands are also,
mostly, made in Shanghai, Taiwan, Japan, et al. (Are the American companies
too cheap to send lasts for big, American feet over-seas? Is it a
CONSPIRACY?! Is their a logical explaination why the Americas market can't
get decent shoes? Enquiring minds want to know!!! :-)
In the meanwhile, I guess I'll stick to the boots I've been getting at
K-Mart. (Their Northwest Territories stuff are pretty good deals. Even
better than their discount racks!) :-)
Anyway, I'm up entirely too late. Couldn't sleep because my apartment got
all hot and stuffy while I was away at the 2nd run movies. Good night.
