Have you tried the MediaPlayerConnectivity extension from 
http://membres.lycos.fr/sethnakht>? It can be configured to run 
WarpVision as a helper to play various type of video. I find it much 
more reliable than the wv plugin. If you try it you'll need to remove 
the wv plugin from your Mozilla plugin directory first.

Do you have Odin and the Wincodecs installed, as required by some video 
formats? I've not noticed you say you have, but I might have missed it :)
