From: Phil Payne > So you guys consider the threat of war to be a terrorist action? Terrorism as > foreplay? Yes. The objective of US posturing before this attack was to terrorise Saddam into doing what the USA wanted. That is terrorism. Random bombing of Baghdad reinforced the message - there was a distinct attempt to terrorise the civilian population into exerting pressure on Saddam. Here's one from 1999: http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/meast/9902/24/iraq.attack.02/ "The Iraqi agency reported that a civilian site on the outskirts of Baghdad was bombed and that an unspecified number of people were killed or injured." One from 2002: http://www.rense.com/general30/air.htm "BAGHDAD (AFP) - US aircraft attacked the international airport at Basra in southern Iraq, the third such strike in two weeks, destroying its radar system, Iraq announced. "The evil American crows have struck and destroyed the civilian radar system and damaged the terminal halls," a transport ministry spokesman told the official satellite television channel." Yes - I call that "terrorism". -- Phil Payne http://www.isham-research.com +44 7785 302 803 +49 173 6242039 --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
