Dear Lauren,
You should NOT have a common NORMAL.DOT for everyone. Look up the
settings that NORMAL.DOT keeps in www.microsoft.com/kb and you
will see that it keeps many personal settings like default font,
autotext entries etc...
Which means that if you keep one NORMAL.DOT for everyone, you have
effectively reduced Word's functionality by a huge amount.
You should point corporate templates to the network drive, i.e.
in the Options|File Locations|Workgroup templates but leave
the Personal templates to a local drive, Options|File Locations|
User Templates. Therefore each person will have their own NORMAL.DOT
To provide everyone with updated versions of macros, etc..., it
ask them to open a new document based on a corporate template.
