Hi Leon,
In the "Sharing & Connecting" object or context menus for any shared
drive/directory make sure that the "Manage Access ..." isn't set
to "no
access" in the "Basic" mode [if you don't have customized
sharing set up
there].
You probably know this already, but for the benefit of others who
mightn't be aware -- if you do have customized sharing implemented,
check that the relevant permissions amongst "NRWXCDAP" are assigned to
the correct GROUP - note the following caution:
Note: Creating a group does not automatically add
any access permissions for the group. After
the group is created, select Change access
to add access permissions.
Possible access permissions are N, R, W, C, X, D, A,
and P or a combination of those. When no permissions
are listed, the group cannot access the resource.
Select one or more check boxes to give the user or
group the desired access permissions for the resource.
Note: Do not select any permissions if you do not
want the user to have any specific permissions
to the resource. Then the user has only the
group permissions. This is not the same as
selecting None, which restricts the user from
any access to the resource.
Possible access permissions are:
N - None
The user or group cannot access the resource.
R - Read
The user or group can read or run files contained in
the directory or drive but not change them. This
permission is valid for directory, drive, and serial
device resources.
W - Write
The user or group can write to files contained in the
directory or drive but not read or run them. This
permission is valid for directory, drive, and serial
device resources.
C - Create
The user or group can create files and subdirectories
in the directory or drive and write to these files and
subdirectories. This permission is valid for directory,
drive, printer, and serial device resources.
E - Execute
The user or group can run programs contained in the
directory or drive. This permission is valid for
directory and drive resources only.
D - Delete
The user or group can delete files and subdirectories
in the directory or drive. This permission is valid for
directory and drive resources only.
A - Attributes
The user or group can change the attributes (such as
the Archive attribute) of the files in the directory or
drive. This permission is valid for directory and drive
resources only.
P - Permissions
The user or group can change the access
permissions for the resource. This permission is valid
for directory, drive, printer, and serial device
resources.
HTH
Regards,
Mike
