Seriously, I've heard folks who had their computers still plugged in, when a close lightning strike occurred...the system practically melted in front of them!! There was also a note in a recent issue of QST (a ham radio publication for the non-hams)...one ham had intricately grounded all his computer, ham gear, and other electronic stuff...or so he thought. A strike virtually right outside his house nearly wiped all he had. SD>I don't use a QWK reader; I use TimEd, which is a sysop editor. I directly SD>manipulate my Squish message base with this program. I do too many things SD>that are outside of QWK's capabilities so I use this. I'm still using the old Offline Express program in a DOS Window under Windows XP...in fact, that's what I'm using to do this message.
