Well, I tried Telstra's Directory Assistance, and they gave me Austel's Melbourne 1800 number, (1800 335 526), and they said that the Austel Permit for the Dynalink 1428VQE I have is currently valid at present. The lady I talked to said that someone else was handling modems that had been taken off the list, and that the modem in question might be taken off the list in the future, but couldn't say when. Anybody got an initializiation string for the above modem? I'm also having problems when connecting long-distance. Garbage appears on the ANSI menus. I'm still trying to figure out what's causing it! Although if I type a command for a particular BBS menu, it works OK. Download *seems* to work. Current suspects are either the phone plug/socket, or the phone lines. Anyone got any other ideas? Cheers...
