They'll be right one day!

I mean this as a serious comment. Just because Captain Kirk can take
magnificent journeys in our minds does not mean that the next fuel after
petrol will be a step forward. Think of the transitional costs, for one
thing.

OTOH maybe deep-ocean drilling won't kill too many things and will yield
more good oil...
