Eh, while I do understand the concern, I think it unwarranted. It will not
be a night and day transition, rather it will take place over decades,
perhaps a century. Yes, there will be a lot of "luddites" wearing
oil-rigger helmets decrying the loss of jobs (just as their predecessors
decried the loss of farm employment and secretarial jobs), but at the same
time there will be multiple jobs being created (as part and parcel of those
very same transition costs) to service the alternative approaches. Running
out of oil is not something to worry about, not even in nightmares, nor in
dreams, as the case may be for environmentalists that refuse to acknowledge
that oil is part of the environment.
