It has always been obvious, long before Bush's dumb war, that Saddam,
vicious tyrant that he was, was nonetheless not the personification of evil
or the latter day Hitler that the Bushes portrayed him as being and that
the usual dummies among the mindless public were suckered into believing.
All the more stupid in that the man was once our ally.

Bush's defenders are still propagating that nonsense because it is the only
excuse left that can be used to justify the war, even though for years the
same people preached that spilling American blood to rid the world of
tyrants was not
what the US should be doing.
