The only question about him at the time was whether he would pull more votes from the Democrats or the Republicans. It could have been either because the man had nothing that could pass as a platform. He was great at criticizing and that is as far as it went. The man never had a ghost of chance of winning and no one but his supporters thought otherwise and they were few indeed. Henry Wallace had a better chance of winning than Perot ever had. As a third party candidate, Perot was undoubtedly the least memorable. Even in retrospect, no one can really say just what the man stood for. It was obvious early on that he didn't know either. After listening to his criticism, when asked how he would do things differently - silence. --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
