DV> The the assembler is thrown in to handle inline assembly.
The assembler is usually not called to handle inline code.
Compiler handling of inline assemble is generally a subset
of real assembler handling and will not accept the whole
range of assembly commands, especially labels in the case
of Borland. The ASM compiler is separate and used by those
for whom it is a viable alternative to using commercial
libraries to obtain low-level access to their machine.
