PE> Yeah, now go and set your terminal speed to 38400, type in "ATZ",
PE> and then phone up your modem line and see if you get "RING".
PE>
SA> I see what you mean.. And while It was ringing All you have to do is press
SA> AT and it comes back to the current speed.. I guess it makes sence though,
SA> when you have a STORED Speed setting and you ARE telling it to go to
PE> stored
SA> settings...
PE> I am not telling it to go the the STORED speed. The "AT" is
PE> telling it to auto-baud detect! BFN. Paul.
SA> But when you put a little Z on the end of AT, you are telling it to go to
SA> STORED SETTINGS, that includes the SPEED...
That may well be the logic they were using when they introduced
that bug, in which case it is faulty by design. Even after an
ATZ, the speed should remain at the speed that the ATZ was
sent at, NOT the one in NVRAM. To assume the latter means that
the terminal must be planning on changing speed as soon as it
gets an "OK" response. Name 1 terminal that does that.
BFN. Paul.
