Hey, I know people have been bagging you for this topic, but I think it's
legit.  I know some monitors, if forced to go into weird vid modes can
get hurt.  Take my NEC multi sinc II.  If I try and force it into something
like 1024/768/256 it really strains.  I'd hate to think of what could happen
if someone wrote a virus where the payload waited for inactivity (ie the
user went away) then madly switched video modes at high speed.  I think,
seriously, you could do damage to either vid card or monitor.  Maybe not
much, but still some mefinks.
