Certain Video Cards, when run in other than VGA Mode, use up the address
(2E8H) that COM4 uses. ATI Mach8, Mach32 and Mach64 video cards do this. S3
8XX, 9XX cards do so likewise. Cirrus Logic 54XX cards do not (up to the
5432 cards.)
What happens is that DOS programs do not see these errors as they do not
normally run in SVGA modes, but OS/2 programs do. The manual that came with
my MACH64 based Graphics Turbo Pro card warned of this, and advised to not
use COM4.
