What we have got is a bunch of private entities, doctors, hospitals,
insurance companies, HMOs all working independently and often at cross
purposes, each trying to make as much profit as possible at public expense
and leaving far too many out of the loop in the process. That is not a
system. It is mishmash of greedy entrepreneurial and corporate types
screwing everybody in sight for ever greater profit and the devil take the
hindmost.

If a corporation were to run its internal organization in such a manner,
its execs would be out on their asses before they had a change to cash in
their stock options.
