They are trying to protect their identity; Their identity as Iraqis, their
culture, their history, their language, all those things that set them
apart from all others, that makes them uniquely Iraqis.

Perhaps you don't think what they are is worth fighting for, but they do.
And that is their right no less than it is your right to want to protect
what makes you an American.
