In your country perhaps, but SUVs are selling fairly well in Western
Europe. At that, the pricing of cars in Europe is quite different from
here. The price goes
up depending on engine displacement.

I don't know what the criteria are now, but it used to be that anything
above two liters for example was more costly. One of the reasons turbos
became so popular in Europe long before they caught on here. You got more
power without increasing the displacement.
