Have you ever tried to install a WARP4 on a PC from 1996 without
modifying config.sys, replacing the disk driver, and after install
installing an display driver, searching thereafter a network driver
that will work with the on board NIC? I was in the 5 years 1995 - 2000
not one time able to get a WARP4 installed without the hassle to
prepare the installation diskkettes or even first creating them from
the CD. Install without fiddeling some hours around to get the base
system on the current state, then fiddeling around to get networking
right, then, after in total 3 tays 8h/day to have the system working
and ready to start the apps I use regulary.
In 2000 as I bought my first eCS it was a dream: insert CD, boot up to
prebootscreen select the SCSI adapter there and run the install - fire
the installer up, selct some options not already selected, select the
NIC already unzipped on HD, click and let start the installer to do
its work, went to kitchen for cooking and drinking a cup of coffee,
come back and the system is ready for work.

Yes, but not for eCS.
