Laurie,
Very few people, with the exception of certain fundalmentalist
extremists would suggest that there is no other intelligent life
besides mankind. Not even skeptics make this claim. The one thing
that separates the skeptic from the believer is whether or not
any of the other races in the universe have visited the earth.
Some believers say yes. Skeptics say, "Where is the proof?"
That is pretty much where things stand at present.
