EK>Yes, eclectus are incredibly looking birds! I'd have a difficult time EK>selecting male over female because the male's green coloration is just as EK>bright and attractive as the female's fire engine red colors. I once saw a EK>female eclectus (don't know what its subspecies was) that had been raised on EK>Pretty Bird. There was not a single feather on that bird's both that was the EK>color it was SUPPOSED to be. When I questioned the petstore people about t EK>(and this is one of the most reputable intown) they said the breeder told th EK>the real colors come in with the first molt. Nonetheless, they had the ird EK>vet-checked through and through. She was healthy as a horse. I have an idea, lets get one of each. One day I will have more then one bird.I don't count Rocky as a bird since he is so quiet and no trouble at all. He thinks he is another kid just playing with his toys and watching TV. EK> > Wanna trade Moonbeam, I bet he is quieter. Since he has no siblings EK> > I EK> > bet he is more human related then usual. Is he light or dark? EK>Moonbeam is still quite a cuddler. As a matter of fact, he climbed out of th EK>cage and onto my chest this morning. He just layed there while I stroked eve EK>part of his body. Smokey and KoKo are rather jealous but they're xhibiting EK>their jealousy in unusual ways. Anytime they see me WITHOUT a bird (feeding, EK>cuddling) they climb down the cage and find me, demanding to be picked up. EK>Since I have babies all over the diningroom table right now (Moonbeam, ive EK>cockatiels I picked up from the handfeeder last night) and four peachface EK>lovebirds, I'm forced to eat meals over the sink. (Am I a bird person or EK>what?!!!) Well, both Smokey and KoKo walk right into the kitchen, which EK>surprises me because they're not comfortable there. Do your birds walk around the house? Meggie stays on her cage or perch most of the time and when she does get down I put her back up. She has her toys to explore and walks around the edge of her big dish. She reached far enough today and got on the kitchen table when I was having my coffee and got into everything on the table. xplore every EK>nook and cranny of his cage instead). Right now he's dark but I'm sure he'll EK>lighten up some as he matures. I think Meggie is a little lighter now then when I got her but not enough that you would notice it. EK>read on the internet, someone in Chicago recently lost a Grey after eeding EK>avocado. He had some old book about Greys that said avocados were healthy! EK>Duhhhhh. You probably know the drill about the other toxic foods: chocolate, EK>caffeine, alcohol, junk food (fried, overly spiced), fatty foods-- nything EK>that you shouldn't be eating no matter how appealing it may be. I have given Marty the list and since he can't eat most of those foods they both get healthy foods. I am the junk addict. Bobbi sent me a book on nutrition and what foods are good and bad and what has the best in vitamins etc. I go by that book. Most of what Meggie gets to eat are foods we eat which are fresh and none fatty and no salt since that is Marty's diet..she loves the fresh sprouted bean sprouts I buy at the store for her. diane EK> > Do you ever watch Opra or are u at work at that time. EK>Work saves me from that dribble. I tune in if I'm home because I'm sick nd EK>desperate!
