That's about the limit for either tube. The difference is that the EL34,
with it's higher plate capacity, is more of a hi-fidelity tube. It is very
common to see plate voltages in the 700 to 1000 volt range in hi-fi gear
producing surprisingly low wattages. If the 5150 is pushing a quartet of
6L6s to 120 watts, I would expect output distortion to be somewhere in the
range of a late silverface Fender Twin Reverb, which has virtually none
before you go deaf.
